For 37 years, the International Peace Light has journeyed across the globe, initially coordinated by the Austrian Broadcasting Company. This symbolic light plays a crucial role in a significant charitable relief initiative, aiming to bring hope to children in need. Originating in Bethlehem following a recent cease-fire between Israel and Gaza, the peace light has travelled the world with the support of various communities, including the scouts in York. This year, Nik Owen transported the light from Wetherby to York for the Scouts’ annual carol service and St Leonards Hospice, contributing to the global message of peace and solidarity.
