Happy Easter! I hope you all had a good break, and are raring to go for the Summer Term! Here are a few topics to highlight for this month:

There has been lots of coverage from the Great Orme Inquest and Scouts are understandably in the spotlight to demonstrate how we keep everyone safe at all times. I will be discussing with our Group Lead Volunteers what more we can do to enhance our Safety Culture. It is very important that everyone continues to follow the Scouts safety procedures and keep on top of all our mandatory learning and risk management. There is plenty of advice on the Scouts website, or just get in touch with our team if you have any queries.

Our Explorer Leaders had a great catch-up recently and our Programme Team have lined up meetings for Squirrel, Beaver, Cub and Scout Section Leaders. Please try your best to join in to share ideas and build connections with our wider Scouting family.

I am particularly keen that we increase our capacity to provide adventurous activities and nights away. Our County Team now have a process to capture demand and provide support. We also have a new club at Snowball for instructors. Our District Team will greatly benefit from a volunteer who has the time to help us promote and develop this area – get in touch with me if you’re interested!

We have been busy rolling out the Scouts new District Team structure. Look out for more details in our District Development Plan, which will be highlighting our focus areas for 2024-2027.
