“What Scouting says to people is: Every child has a right to have an adventure. Life is about grabbing opportunities.”

Bear Grylls

Our District lies within the Scout County of North Yorkshire.

Ebor District in North Yorkshire is made up of fourteen Scout Groups spanning from Poppleton in the west, past Bishopthorpe in the south and on to Dunnington in the east. There has been Scouting in the district since 1909. We currently provide fun, adventure and life skills for over 1200 young people in 21 Beaver Colonies, 21 Cub Packs, 21 Scout Troops, and 7 Explorer Units. We are entirely run by volunteers and charitable funding.

We have a campsite called Snowball Plantation at Stockton on the Forest that we co-own with Minster District (the other York district).

“We mustn’t take Scouting for granted. You can do nothing more important for young people today than to continue, or begin, your support of Scouting.”

– Wallace G. Wilkinson
